Rothschild and wine
The name Rothschild has been associated with fine wines for almost a century and a half.
It was in the Bordeaux parish of Pauillac that the Rothschild passion for wine took root. In 1868, Baron James de Rothschild secured the ownership of Château Lafite, one of the four great premier grand cru estates of France. Today, under the leadership of Baron Eric de Rothschild, Château Lafite Rothschild consistently produces some of the world's finest red wines.
