About the image

Christo and Jeanne-Claude
The umbrellas, Japan and USA, 1984-91

The artists are known for their large-scale environmental works – often realised through the use of woven fabric. The Umbrellas was a temporary work of art based across two countries (Japan-USA), which reflected the similarities and differences in the ways of life and use of the land. 1,760 yellow umbrellas were used in the USA; 1,340 blue umbrellas in Japan.

Discretionary services

Our discretionary investment service allows clients to delegate the management of their portfolios to an investment professional. While many of our clients select us as their sole investment manager, for some clients we’re one of a number of investment advisers.

After thorough consultation, the investment manager and client agree on a long-term investment strategy, which will reflect the client’s individual investment goals and attitude to risk. Although day-to-day management of the portfolio is left to the investment manager, many clients choose to be in frequent contact.

When constructing portfolios, we recommend a blended approach using direct holdings, active and passive funds, structured products and derivatives.
