Leonardo da Vinci
Flying machines (pen and ink on paper)

Leonardo’s studies in science and engineering are as impressive and innovative as his artistic work. His fascination with the phenomenon of flight produced highly inventive studies which integrated original concepts, structures and shapes. These were vastly ahead of their time, yet based on his meticulous observations of anatomical forms.
